HIFI Raises USD 37 Million to Scale the Infrastructure for Tokenised Money
The Hub71+ Digital Assets startup will use its Series A to expand regulatory coverage, grow its team, and take programmable settlement infrastructure further into cards and capital markets.
HIFI, a US-based financial technology company from the Hub71 Cohort 17 of the Hub71+ Digital Assets programme, has raised USD 37 million (AED 135.9 million) in Series A funding. Left Lane Capital led the round, which HIFI will use to deepen its regulatory coverage, expand its team, and extend its platform into cards and tokenised capital markets.
The financing follows a period of rapid adoption. In its funding announcement, HIFI reports that its platform processes more than USD 7 billion in annualised volume. Usage among existing customers has increased more than fourfold over the past six months, while companies building on HIFI have onboarded over 10,000 businesses and 200,000 individuals.
Building programmable money infrastructure
HIFI was founded in New York in 2022 by Zach Walsh and Mo Afifi to help businesses build products around stablecoins and tokenised money. Its infrastructure connects digital assets with traditional bank rails, allowing developers and institutions to manage money movement, conversion, routing, and settlement through a unified platform.
That capability addresses a practical gap in the financial system. Stablecoins can settle continuously, but the surrounding processes for compliance, custody, treasury operations, and reconciliation often depend on infrastructure built for conventional banking hours. HIFI is working to connect those systems so companies can use programmable money within real operating workflows.
Payments provide a clear starting point. HIFI enables businesses to embed stablecoin-powered payouts, payroll, and treasury services into their products. Through its integration with Circle Payments Network and Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol, the company also helps developers move USDC across supported blockchains and into local payout routes. Circle details how the integration works across cross-border payment flows.
Moving from payments into tokenised capital markets
HIFI is now applying the same infrastructure approach to capital markets, where tokenised cash and assets can support faster and more automated settlement. The company says its platform formed part of a Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation pilot for tokenised repurchase agreements in July 2026. It also supported a live tokenised repo trade on Tradeweb between DRW and Marex, settled on the Canton Network with USDCx as the cash leg.
These projects test how regulated institutions can coordinate the transfer of an asset and its payment on shared digital rails. HIFI’s role centres on the infrastructure around those transactions, including the movement and control of tokenised cash. The company plans to develop that capability further, with custody and control among the areas it identifies as important for institutional adoption.
Why the milestone matters for Abu Dhabi
HIFI’s Series A adds fresh momentum to the community growing through Hub71+ Digital Assets. The specialist ecosystem brings startups together with regulators, investors, financial institutions and infrastructure partners to support market entry and commercial growth from Abu Dhabi.
That network is especially relevant for companies building financial infrastructure. Abu Dhabi Global Market has established a regulatory framework that covers virtual assets, fiat-referenced tokens, digital securities, derivatives, and funds investing in digital assets. Its digital assets framework gives founders and institutions a clearer view of the permissions and standards that may apply as they develop regulated products.
Hub71+ Digital Assets complements that environment by connecting founders with the commercial and technical partners needed to turn new financial models into deployable products. For HIFI, Abu Dhabi offers a base from which to engage an international financial centre and a growing concentration of digital asset companies serving markets across the Middle East and beyond.
What comes next for HIFI?
HIFI has set three priorities for its new funding. It plans to obtain additional regulatory licences, grow its teams in New York and selected international markets, and broaden its product suite beyond payments into cards and capital markets.
The company’s expansion reflects a wider opportunity for financial products built on tokenised cash and assets. Moving from experiments to day-to-day use will require infrastructure that can meet institutional standards while remaining simple for developers to integrate. HIFI is building toward that requirement with a platform already operating at a multibillion-dollar annualised scale.
