The Golden Visa is for exceptional international talent working, creating, studying, and investing in key sectors to grow, excel and succeed in the UAE. The visa enables foreign nationals to live, work and invest in Abu Dhabi for up to 10 years without a national sponsor.

How to apply?

Founders can apply for the Golden Visa for Entrepreneurs through the Abu Dhabi Residents Office (ADRO) website: https://adro.gov.ae.

Upon submission of an application via ADRO’s TAMM portal, Hub71, now the appointed competent authority to endorse the Golden Visa – Tech Entrepreneur Category, will undertake a review and provide ADRO with a confirmation of its endorsement decision.

Following this, ADRO will review the application, providing a final confirmation on the nomination status and advising on the subsequent steps.

Who is eligible?

Hub71 startup founders and co-founders are eligible to apply for the Entrepreneur Golden Visa. Applicants must hold a valid Emirates ID.

To be eligible, entrepreneurs require:

  • A business in approved sectors, classified as an SME with annual revenue over AED 1,000,000.

OR

  • Approval from an incubator, the Ministry of Economy, ICP, or a local authority for a pioneering business project in the UAE.

OR

  • Previous businesses worth at least AED 7,000,000, with approval from relevant authorities.

These documents may include bank statements, government entity nominations, and other category-specific materials relevant to the Abu Dhabi Golden Visa. After submission, the application is reviewed by Hub71 for the Tech Entrepreneur Category, followed by an evaluation and final approval by ADRO.

The Abu Dhabi Golden Visa allows for the sponsorship of spouses, children (regardless of age), and parents, varying according to the specific visa category. The Golden Visa for Entrepreneurs can be extended to three of the entrepreneurs’ executive directors. Executive directors must be nominated by their entrepreneur through a “promise to stay/endorsement” letter that proves they will remain under the service of the startup for the duration of the Golden Visa.

The founder must submit the endorsement letter directly to Hub71. Once approved by Hub71, the employer must contact one of the below certified typing centers.

Your existing sponsor can cancel your current residence visa. You cannot process the application on your own. An individual sponsoring their spouse, children, and other dependents must cancel the dependents’ visas first before they cancel their own.
